TUDOR Royal - Fit for a King
This weekend is dedicated to everything Royal, and to commemorate the King's Coronation, we’re taking a close look at the recently launched TUDOR Royal watches that were revealed at Watches and Wonders 2023.
The TUDOR Royal collection is the perfect example of flexible and affordable sporty elegance, thanks to its automatic movement, notched or diamond-set bezel, and metal bracelet. Two new dial variations, Chocolate Brown and Salmon, have been added to the range, which adds to its excitement.
The TUDOR Royal collection now features new radial-brushed salmon and chocolate brown dials, adding an unexpected and stunning aesthetic to the range. These watches offer a blend of sportiness and elegance, with self-winding capabilities and an integrated bracelet design that is both affordable and visually appealing.
With a sophisticated aesthetic and outstanding technical performance, the Royal range bridges the gap between classic and sports watches. Originally introduced by TUDOR in the 1950s to highlight the superior quality of their watches, the Royal name still holds to this day. These watches are available in stainless steel or gold and steel and come in four different sizes, with a total of thirteen dial variations to suit every individual's taste.
TUDOR has aimed to create high-quality watches at an affordable price since its establishment in 1926, driven by the vision of founder Hans Wilsdorf. Wilsdorf's dream was to invent a technically perfect watch that remained within reach for buyers, leading to the creation of the TUDOR brand. The TUDOR Royal range carries on this legacy, ensuring the best possible quality at a reasonable price.
The case of TUDOR Royal watches is made from robust 316L steel, allowing them to be waterproof up to 100 meters thanks to the screw-down crown and case back. The movement is Swiss-made and adjusted to the highest chronometry standards in the industry, while the metal bracelet is designed with precision and quality in mind. These elements combine to create the hallmark TUDOR quality, embodied by the brand's #BornToDare philosophy of continuous improvement.
The TUDOR Royal range has a unique design, featuring three wide satin-brushed links and two slimmer polished elements for comfortable wear. The range offers different finishes to suit individual preferences, including stainless steel or alternating links of stainless steel and yellow gold. It is available in four sizes to fit any wrist, and the 41mm version has a mechanical movement that displays both the day and date. The 28mm version has a mother-of-pearl dial with a diamond-set bezel.
The TUDOR Royal range offers sunray motif dials in six different colours: black, silver, champagne, blue, chocolate brown, and salmon. The sunray motif extends from the dial's centre, creating attractive lighting effects and reflections that enhance the Royal's sophisticated personality. The smallest diameter features a diamond-set mother-of-pearl version to add to its elegance. The TUDOR Royal watches also feature applied Roman numeral hour markers and a combination of applied numerals and eight diamond-set hour markers.
TUDOR watches are meticulously assembled and tested to the brand's exacting standards at their new manufacturing facility in Le Locle, Switzerland. This state-of-the-art facility, completed in 2021 after three years of construction, boasts the latest in product management and automated testing systems and brings together the expertise of skilled watchmakers. With its vibrant TUDOR red decor, the facility spans four levels and covers 5,500 square meters.
It is also connected both physically and visually to the Kenissi Manufacture, TUDOR's movement production facility established in 2016. Thanks to this integration and a network of TUDOR-owned affiliates, the brand now has complete control over the development and production of high-performance mechanical calibres, including key components, and can ensure their exceptional quality.
