TAG Heuer Unveils Latest Innovations at Watches and Wonders 2023: Discover the Future of Luxury Timepieces!
TAG Heuer's latest unveiling at Watches and Wonders 2023, sees the Swiss luxury watchmaker showcasing its newest innovations in the world of timepieces.
This year, TAG Heuer has unveiled three stunning new models: the Carrera Chronograph, the full gold Aquaracer Professional 200, and the Carrera Date. These latest additions to the TAG Heuer family represent the pinnacle of Swiss watchmaking craftsmanship and showcase the brand's commitment to innovation and luxury.
A NEW CHAPTER BEGINS: The 60-Year Story Of The Iconic TAG Heuer Carrera
Two new models have been released of the iconic Carrera timepiece in celebration of its 60th anniversary. Inspired by the “glassbox” design and sporting Swiss mechanics, the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph and TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon are expected to become mainstays of the brand's modern collection.
The Carrera's backstory is rooted in the Carrera Panamericana race of the 1960s, from which CEO Jack Heuer drew inspiration to create the Carrera line of chronographs. The new models are a testament to the company's commitment to excellence and innovation, reflecting Jack's vision in their combination of modernism, function, beauty, and signature style.
The two watches have a redesigned and refined stainless-steel case, with a sapphire crystal that flows over the tachymeter scale and into the case to improve legibility and functionality.
Both models boast a fresh take on the timeless style of the TAG Heuer Carrera, with one featuring a blue dial and matching leather strap and the other a black-and-silver "reverse panda" dial that pays homage to iconic Heuer Carreras from the 1960s.
The Carrera Chronograph watches are fitted with an upgraded Heuer 02 in-house automatic chronograph calibre movement, known as TH20-00, which offers bidirectional winding and enhanced precision. Additionally, the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph marries opposites with its fluid and angular silhouette, combined brushed and polished surfaces, and curved edges and taut flanks.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon showcases its tourbillon cage with an elevated dial aperture at 6 o'clock, and the watch's every element reflects the beauty of the tourbillon. The TH20-09 in-house tourbillon movement powers the automatic watch, which is chronometer-certified, has a chronograph function, and a 65-hour power reserve.
It has a stainless-steel 42-mm case, signature TAG Heuer Carrera blue dial with a circular brushed finish, azuré subdials, silver rings, an outer minute's scale with fiery orange detailing over each hour marker, and a sharp triangular central second’s hand. The TH20-09 movement has bidirectional winding, increased efficiency and accuracy, a higher level of finishing, and a five-year warranty.
TAG Heuer’s Carrera watches are a testament to the brand's excellence and innovation and embody the racing spirit and appeal to fashionable, upwardly mobile young people
A WATCH BORN OF GENIUS: The new TAG Heuer Carrera Date is a modern-day classic
Available in four striking new dial colours, the 36mm Carrera Date holds special significance for TAG Heuer Carrera enthusiasts, as it matches the size of the original 1963 Heuer Carrera.
The TAG Heuer Carrera is named after the Carrera Panamericana, a dangerous Mexican road race in the 1950s. It has become an icon over the past six decades, known for its sleek, modern design and exceptional engineering, making it a popular choice for forward-thinking individuals.
The new version features a stunning new dial colour palette, with customers having the choice of four options; the brand's signature blue, a second in a subtle, pastel green, the third in a warm silver tone and the fourth a vibrant pink.
TAG Heuer's designers and engineers have made significant changes to the proportions of the TAG Heuer Carrera Date to enhance its wearability without altering the case diameter. They have reduced the measurement from the tips of the top and bottom lugs while making the case 2mm thinner than the previous model. The crown has also been redesigned to sit more squarely with the case edge, while the three-link bracelet has undergone a transformation.
The watch is powered by the Calibre 7 Automatic, providing a superior 56-hour power reserve, and also has a date window at 6 o’clock. The new TAG Heuer Carrera Date is a modern-day classic, retaining its connection to the racing-inspired design while undergoing significant improvements.
The Carrera series has always been an exceptional representation of Swiss craftsmanship and authentic design. With a sleek and refined new shape that's similar to the original 1963 model, the 36mm version of the watch remains very popular and is sure to be remembered for years to come.
THE NEW GOLD STANDARD: The first TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 models in solid 18-karat gold
The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200, is now available in 18ct 5N rose gold and 18ct 3N yellow gold. Powered by the new Manufacture Calibre TH31-00, offering an impressive 80-hour power reserve and a five-year extended warranty. These are the first TAG Heuer Aquaracer models with solid gold cases and bezels, yet still designed as modern sports watches suitable for outdoor adventures, with a water resistance of up to 200 meters.
The gradient dials of both models complement their solid gold cases, with applied hour markers filled with high-grade Super-LumiNova® for easy low-light visibility. The watches feature black DLC-coated steel screw-down crowns and lightweight black DLC-coated Grade 2 titanium case backs with sapphire crystal inserts to showcase the new movement. The watches are set on black or blue rubber straps that correspond to their dial and have black DLC-coated Grade 2 titanium clasps.
The new Calibre TH31-00 adheres to the principles of high-end mechanical watchmaking, achieving chronometer certification with an accuracy of -4/+6 seconds per day. It provides 80 hours of power, the highest ever seen in a TAG Heuer Aquaracer watch powered by a mechanical movement, and includes time and date functions, it has a traditional Côtes de Genève finish on the bridges and a new rotor design that echoes the TAG Heuer shield.
Retaining the original design principles established in the 1980s: a unidirectional rotating bezel, a screw-down crown, water resistance of at least 200 meters, luminous markings, a sapphire crystal, and a double safety clasp. These characteristics have become essential to TAG Heuer Aquaracer wearers for their reliability and usefulness.
Two years since its reincarnation, the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional collection is now a fully formed collection of high-performing sports watches. The Aquaracer Professional 200 models continue the story of the current generation, retaining the same refinements, such as the slimmed-down case, recognizable 12-sided unidirectional rotating bezel, horizontal lines on the dial, and crown protection.
The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 in gold represents a high-end addition to the Aquaracer Professional collection, combining luxury and durability suitable for any adventure.
